(Columbus, OH) – Midwest Retail Giant Meijer, Inc. has ended its promotion with the nation’s largest anti-hunting organization.
The leadership at Meijer, a Michigan-based regional chain of retail superstores, has responded to the concerns of the sportsman community and ended its partnership with the anti-hunting group, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), in an online pet photo contest.

Mention the words “Sandusky Register” or “Editor Matt Westerhold” to a Concealed Handgun License (CHL)-holder and the reaction will not be pleasant, even nearly a year after one newspaper editor’s declaration of war on Ohio CHL-holders.
Though Westerhold refused to remove from the Register website information that is considered private under Ohio law (or even apologize for publishing it in the first place), Register Police & Courts Reporter Holly Abrams has been undergoing a conversion experience that will warm the hearts of Ohio gun owners.

Recently, Buckeye Firearms Association had the privilege to co-sponsor a Candidates Reception with the US Sportsman Alliance (USSA). This is the third year that Buckeye Firearms has played a major role in this worthy event. This was the first year that the Ohio Republican and Democrat parties also joined as co-sponsors of the event, amongst other organizations.
Candidates, senators and state representatives from across the state were invited to this reception to mix and mingle with sportsman, hunters and Second Amendment supporters. This is always a great opportunity for individuals to talk face to face with the candidates and for the candidates to hear from the people of what their concerns may be.

In a recent story titled, “Va. Tech more secure a year after massacre,” USA Today promotes lies and the exact feel good head in the sand mindset that helped a sick man kill 32 innocent people a year ago.
The sad fact is that the school is NOT more secure today than it was. School administrators have spent a lot of time and money on everything but the real issue; enabling those facing a deadly threat to stop it. They trample on the most basic freedom; to defend one’s own life. They fought to ensure they students remain helpless victims.

Liberals love the Constitution.
Ask anyone on the street. They’ll tell you the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is a liberal organization.
I know liberal couples who give each other pocket size copies of the Constitution for Christmas.
Ask liberals to list their top five complaints about the Bush Administration, and they will invariably say the words “shredding” and “Constitution” in the same sentence. They might also add “Fourth Amendment” and “due process.” It’s possible they’ll talk about “free speech zones” and “habeus corpus.”
There’s a good chance they will mention, probably in combination with several FCC-prohibited adjectives, the former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
So.
Liberals love the Constitution. They especially love the Bill of Rights. They love all the Amendments.
Except for one: the Second Amendment.

Buckeye Firearms Central Ohio Chair Gerard Valentino testified in favor of HB450 at the House Criminal Justice Committee hearing on Thursday April 17th. The bill, which will give veterans between the age of 18 and 21 the right to own a handgun, was voted out of committee and will now go to the House floor for a vote.
This common sense pro-gun legislation is likely to receive overwhelming bi-partisan support as it makes its way to the governor.
Buckeye Firearms Association is honored to announce our full endorsement of the bill as proposed. Veterans, who give their all to protect our rights, deserve to right to self-defense regardless of whether they are 18, 19, 20 or 35 years-old.

Pro-gun groups have been trying to sound the alarm about Barack Obama’s extreme anti-gun record since his Presidential campaign began. While his record includes opposing letting people use a self-defense argument if charged with violating local handgun bans by using weapons in their homes, and being a member of the Joyce Foundation (which provides groups like the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence hundreds of thousands of dollars to use in their fight to destroy your gun rights), Obama’s campaign lip service as been all about his supposed support for gun rights.
Obama’s true beliefs about gun owners were exposed for more Americans recently when he described small town Midwesterners as “bitter”. “They cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations,” Obama snidely told a group of San Francisco donors.
It is clear to gun owners who are paying attention that this man cannot be trusted to uphold the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. But for those who are less involved in the political process, Obama’s “pro-gun” charade is likely working, just as a certain “hunters and shooters” group has succeeded in convincing some gun owners that they support the Second Amendment.
But when the American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA) endorsed Barack Obama for President, they finally took a step that should expose both the organization and Obama to even the most disconnected gun owner.
The Tacoma News Tribune is reporting that the Department of the Interior proposed a rule change this week that would allow people to carry a concealed firearm in a national park or wildlife refuge.
