Barack FACT: Obama joined former terrorist and friend Bill Ayers on stage in 1997 to fight crime bill

Buckeye Firearms Association endorsee and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin delivered headlines across America this weekend by drawing attention to Illinois Sen. Barack Obama’s long-time connections to unrepentant former terrorist Bill Ayers.

Obama’s campaign surrogates at the New York Times is attempting to pass off the connection as nothing more than “crossed paths” and “casual encounters” – you know, “casual” like meeting Ayers at his home in 1995, and serving on a seven-member board together for several years {The Times called this a simple “overlap” of the two men’s lives).

Another “casual encounter” between Obama and Ayers has been uncovered – sharing the stage in 1997 in a fight to stop crime legislation aimed at punishing under-18 gang-bangers who use guns in their heinous crimes as adults.

Attorney General announces Second Quarter 2008 CHL statistics

Improvements to law spark continued surge in demand for concealed handgun licenses

The Ohio Attorney General’s office has released the concealed handgun license (CHL) statistics for the second quarter of 2008. Demand continues to be strong. It was the fifth straight quarter that demand increased over the same period a year prior

Ohio is now into its fifth year of licensing citizens to carry firearms for protection. Most of the licenses issued in the first two months the law was in effect expired during this reporting period. Over one half, or 14,007, of those licenses were renewed during the quarter. (An additional 2,706 were renewed early and were reported in the first quarter report.)

The normal pattern when a state passes concealed carry is an initial surge, followed by a tapering off in demand till reaching a stabilized demand after three years. That is exactly what happened in Ohio. And then something interesting happened.

Ohio Voting Has Begun – What Have You Done For A Pro-Gun Candidate Today?

Absentee and same day voting has begun in Ohio. Perhaps you have seen the videos of the community organizers picking up drunk and homeless people in Ohio and running them to the polls to vote for Obama, or about poll observers being turned away from polling places?

Buckeye Firearms Association believes that every effort must be made to aid pro-gun candidates, whatever office. Please feel free to submit your own stories, which we will run periodically to help encourage others to emulate your efforts.

Last night myself, my 7 year-old son Mitch, my 11 year-old daughter Miranda, and my 29 years-old-and-holding wife Sharon stamped and addressed 1,100 postcards for a local pro-gun candidate, and we will do the same again tonight. This person is in critical need to get the postcards out, as my county might approach 30,000 absentee votes this year, and the message needs to go out right now.

SAF National Gun Rights Policy Conference: Gun Rights Proponents Meet as Absentee Voting Begins

The Second Amendment Foundation’s (SAF) National Gun Rights Policy Conference was held at the beautiful Sheraton Crescent Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona this past weekend. I had the honor of attending on behalf of Buckeye Firearms Association and was one of the presenters during the state rights panel. This three-day conference served as a final “pep rally” as pro-gun teams headed into the championship game – the 2008 Presidential Election. The first quarter, absentee voting, was kicking off as the conference wrapped up.

Obama says gun owners are bitter clingers; Supporter now says we’re racist anti-Semites

Barack Obama had not yet locked up the nomination for his party when he revealed his true feelings about gun owners to attendees of a private fund raiser in San Francisco last April:

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them,” Obama said. “And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

The ‘bitter clingers’ comment continues to resonate, with John McCain regularly citing Obama’s snide remarks on the campaign trail, and the NRA using the phrase in campaign materials.

Last week, an Obama supporter and U.S. Congressman from Florida took the stereo-typing of gun owners to a whole new level.
