Is Mayor Bloomberg adding mayors to his gun control front group without permission?
By Chad D. Baus
With each passing day since Walton Hills, OH Mayor Marlene Anielski notified Buckeye Firearms Association of her decision to resign from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun control front group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG), it appears the ripple that began with her resignation has the potential to grow into a tsunami.
Last week, Madiera Beach, FL Mayor Patricia Shontz notified Buckeye Firearms Association of her decision to resign from MAIG, and on the same day Brunswick,OH Mayor Dale Strasser notified the National Rifle Association that he too wanted to have his name taken off the groups’ list of members.
News that a still another mayor resigned from the group last week is raising questions of how many of these mayors got on Bloomberg’s list in the first place.

Brady’s Helmke in Columbus to award gun control politicians; Takes opportunity to dance in the blood of officers injured Monday
By Chad D. Baus
When blood is running the streets, there always seems to be a group of gun ban extremists ready to dance in it. This time, they are dancing in the blood of two Ohio law enforcement officers.
On Monday, two Columbus officers were injured when a marijuana-growing suspect fired on them with a semi-automatic AK-47 rifle.
Just two days later, Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence President Paul Helmke staged a press appearance in Columbus, and claimed that the incident should should serve to remind people how “easy” it is to buy “assault weapons.”

Last month, Buckeye Firearms Association broke the news that Village of Walton Hills, OH Mayor Marlene Anielski had submitted to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg her resignation from the gun control front group known as Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG).
The news of Anielski’s decision spread far and wide, and Anielski gave some high-profile interviews to further explain her motivations for the resignation.
Today, we can report that yet another mayor has notified us of her decision to resign from Bloomberg’s MAIG charade.
Dayton city attorney and newspaper writer struggle to comprehend gun laws written in plain English
By Jim Irvine
Confusion, incompetence or continued intentional denial of rights under Ohio law? It’s hard to tell sometimes when looking at the media-driven debate over carrying guns.
Ohio’s concealed carry law is terrible in some respects, but when it comes to areas most often challenged by cities, it’s not hard figuring out who is right. It’s so simple a cave man could do it – but to not a city lawyer or a reporter for the Dayton Daily News.
A recent DDN story, “Handgun allowed in Englewood parks, pocket knife may be confiscated” looks at the “debate” that continues years after the state legislature passed a very simple and easy to understand law. In actuality, it is not really any more of a debate than a child screaming “I want that” to a parent.
20,000 TEA Party attendees hear BFA question John Kasich on gun rights in Ohio
By Joe Eaton
Gun owners across these United States, and in Ohio particularly, have long questioned the one blemish on GOP gubernatorial-hopeful John Kasich’s Second amendment record – his 1994 vote in favor of Bill Clinton’s “Crime Bill”, which outlawed several types of commonly owned firearms.
This weekend’s Townhall at the Cincinnati area Voice of America TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party rally was attended by an estimated 20,000, and as a volunteer for Buckeye Firearms Association, I was able to ask Mr. Kasich exactly where he now stands on gun rights. Here is what we heard.
Cabela’s NRA 2nd Amendment Workshop a rousing success
By Jim Irvine
Recently I was invited to attend a Second Amendment workshop at the Cabela’s in Dundee, Michigan. The event was organized by Wayne Blank, an NRA certified instructor, training councilor, and Election Volunteer Coordinator (EVC.)
The event was held on August 29 and was an all day event held at a huge Cabela’s store – the ultimate shopping for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. The list of speakers included several friends in the fight to restore our rights. I was humbled to be included with them and gladly accepted the invitation to speak.
Speakers included:
